I WILL FIGHT NO MORE FOREVER.
This, along with many other Native American battle one-liners, along with a few Bruce Springsteen song titles, is just a small part of the war culture my dad and uncles have imparted to my generation.

This is my Dad, Uncle Newton, and Uncle David (l-r)

And these are their friends (side note: top right is Sara Fong’s dad)
All this to say that its ingrained in me that every thing can really be turned into a really epic battle for territory, justice, freedom, etc.
I learned that maybe not everybody shares this culture.

So when Sarah Chi and i found this colony of fruit flies (after having killed at LEAST 50 in the 15 minutes before), I started shouting things like “No retreat, baby, no surrender” and “Today is a good day to die” and “grab a napkin, sarah- that way you dont have to wash your hands in between killings”

I think Sarah might have been thrown off by my spinning jumps as i leapt from sofa to futon, but its okay because my mom is the kind of mom who would kill mosquitoes, assess its bloodiness
and mutter, “Not on my watch.”
